Richard Söderström, new Corporate Director Materials at Buehler Motor
As of July 13, 2009 management of materials at Buehler Motor is in the experienced hands of Richard Soederstroem. As Corporate Director Materials he is responsible for global sourcing.
In his last position, Richard Soederstroem (45) was the Global Advance Purchasing Manager for Nidec Motors & Actuators (formerly Valeo), an automotive supplier located in Bietigheim-Bissingen. He led an international team of purchasing agents in Germany, Poland, Spain, and Mexico.
Born in Sweden, he started his career as a development engineer for Garphyttan Hesselman AB in Stockholm. His work as project manager during production transfer of DC motors from Sweden to Germany led to his employment with the Garphyttan affiliate Schabmüller in Berching (Germany).
Richard Soederstroem not only is a highly qualified purchasing manager, but, with his background in electrical engineering and his related professional experience, he is quite familiar with all aspects of design and production of DC motors.
Buehler Motor is happy to have such a competent new member in its management team. The main focus of his work will be ongoing support and further development of international suppliers for Buehler Motor.
"Since we have the anniversary celebration of Charles Darwin, I am referring to his ‘Survival of the Fittest’ theory. Without a doubt, only companies which have prepared carefully for the future will survive the current crisis. In this context, I will identify and continue further process optimization at Buehler Motor by continuously screening both opportunities and risks. I am convinced that with the use of proper tools it will be possible to reduce expenses on one hand and achieve even better quality on the other. Buehler Motor as well as our suppliers and customers will benefit from this approach in the long term", as per Richard Soederstroem.
