Buehler Motor Expands Its Commitment to the Aviation Industry

Buehler North America President Adds New Position; Targets Aircraft Seat Actuator Product Development, Sales and Support  
 

HAMBURG, Germany (March 31, 2009) – Bühler Motor Group, a leading international provider of mechatronic drive solutions with a specialty in aviation, automotive and general industries, today named Robert Riedford as the global director of aviation at the Aircraft Interiors EXPO in Hamburg. Riedford also serves as the president and general manager of North American operations at Buehler Motor, Inc. (BMI) in Morrisville, N.C.

 

Buehler Motor will be exhibiting and demonstrating its latest advances in customized aircraft seat drive systems at the Aircraft Interiors EXPO, March 31 to April 2, 2009, in Hamburg, Germany (Booth #7G22).

 

The expanded role for Riedford signals a strengthened commitment by Buehler to servicing the global aviation market. As the global director of aviation, Riedford is tasked with organizing Buehler Motor’s sales and marketing efforts consistent with the company’s goal of becoming the market leader in the aircraft drive systems segment. Additionally, he will lead the introduction of new products to customers in Europe, North America and Asia.

 

“With extensive management experience and a proven track record successfully leading the North American market, Robert Riedford is the logical choice to lead Buehler Motor’s growth in the global aviation industry,” said Peter Muhr, Buehler Motor, GmbH, CEO of global operations. “This appointment also reflects Buehler’s pledge to the world’s top airlines to deliver next-generation aircraft seat actuation systems and other mechanized drive solutions that will enable seat manufacturers to meet specific application, qualification, certification, engineering and customer service standards.”

 

Prior to his current positions, Riedford served as vice president and general manager of BMI. His previous assignments included director of business development for KVH Industries of Middleton, R.I. He also worked previously for Delphi Electronics in Indiana in sales, program management, portfolio management, and engineering positions.

 

Riedford has had expatriate assignments in South Korea and Germany while working with General Motors Corp. Riedford is a graduate of the University of Evansville with a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering, and has completed course work toward an MBA.
