Nuremberg, 28 April 2008 – Since the beginning of 2008, as part of a sponsorship agreement, Bühler Motor has supported the Formula Student Team “High-Octane-Motorsport e.V.” The team is made up of approx. 40 young students attending Friedrich-Alexander University, Erlangen-Nuremberg. Through this sponsorship Bühler is able to establish contact with dedicated students and to offer internships in our company to them.
Formula Student is an international design competition, for which technically oriented students accept the challenge to develop a single-seat formula race car, design it, and ultimately build it. During annual events the student teams then compete with the vehicles they constructed.
The deciding factor in these competitions is not simply who has the fastest race car, but who has the car with the highest performance and efficiency. A jury, including experts from the motor sport and automotive industry, evaluate construction, design, race performance, financial planning, and presentation of the car. All of these aspects weigh on the overall rating.
Making all of this happen is quite a challenge. Therefore, the students are dependent on support and assistance of sponsors and corporations.
On February 4, 2008, the foundation for our sponsorship was laid with a contract signing between High-Octane Motorsport e.V. and Bühler Motor GmbH’s representatives Matthias Otto (Human Resouces Manager) and Thomas Peterreins (Engineer).
On April 9, 2008, Thomas Peterreins and Kerstin Specht introduced the students to Bühler in more detail, during a visit to the univeristy. A technical presentation will be given to the students at the beginning of July.
We are looking forward to working with the High-Octane-Team.
