Buehler Motor acquires AMTL's electronic actuator business from DANA Corp.

Buehler Motor, a leading manufacturer of motors, actuators and mechatronic drive solutions (for Powertrain, AWD and other automotive applications), is pleased to announce that effective 1 Nov. 2006 Buehler Motor has acquired 100% ownership of the electronic actuator business of Automotive Motion Technology Limited, Andover, UK from DANA Corp., supported by Huebner Schloesser & Cie. AMTL is a leader in the development of advanced brushless motor, software, electronics and hydraulic pump technology.

The Andover facility will become the brushless motor and hydraulic pump center of excellence for Buehler and will continue the development of the brushless and hydraulic pumps for a broad range of applications. This purchase will strengthen Buehler’s position in brushless motor technology, broaden the Buehler product range and position Buehler to become a major supplier of advance motor and pump technology to the automotive industry.

AMTL has developed and patented proven technology for advance automotive mechatronic systems. The Andover, UK facility adds 34 people to the Buehler engineering staff for the development of electronics and software for brushless motors as well as hydraulic pumps. A full range of test facilities and experienced engineering staff is available to support future development projects.
